Chapter 3, Wolf Girl (Part 1)
Two little girls stood dazed behind their mother. Perhaps it is the bond between mother and child; the two little girls actually understood the series of sign language gestures she made, which had no substantive meaning at all.
In this world, there is absolutely no mother who wishes to watch her son being bitten by a beast, with blood and flesh splattering everywhere
Ah!
She rolled down for a full forty to fifty meters, accumulating more than a dozen new scars on her body. The dizziness from the continuous rolling and collisions made her feel as if the world was spinning. After lying down for a full half hour, she slowly sat up. As she looked around the valley into which she had fallen, her eyes suddenly widened in surprise. For she saw a familiar, small set of bedding.
She stood there foolishly, while the she-wolf watched her with a wary gaze. This peculiar silence was maintained between the person and the wolf. When the two little girls followed the trail left by their mother, they also found this small valley. The numerical disadvantage had already caused the she-wolf to tense up completely.
My son is right up there, I want to bring him back
In this naturally formed semi-enclosed world, a wolf, standing over a person's height, is intently staring at her. Behind this wolf lies a den built beneath the stone layer
The village chief kept the villagers far above in the valley. He moved as lightly as possible and approached the mother who had been confronting a lone wolf for a full five or six hours to protect her son. When he saw the mother wolf's fur standing on end as if electrified, revealing two rows of sharp teeth, this village chief, who had once been a porter and had traveled extensively across the land, immediately understood that he had reached the limit of what the mother wolf could tolerate.
Hearing her exclamation, Lei Zhen, who had spent his first birthday in the wolf's den, raised his head and saw his mother. A hint of a happy smile appeared on Lei Zhen's face. This little fellow, who was already able to master simple sounds, opened his mouth and let out a soft, childlike voice: "Mother..."
Just as she was about to reach the summit, a large stalagmite suddenly broke off from the rock face, dislodging a significant amount of soil. With all her strength relying on this stalagmite, she suddenly lost her point of support and uncontrollably rolled down the steep cliff, which had an incline of at least 60 degrees. At that moment, she was already "experienced"; she immediately used her arms to protect her head. As long as she did not hit her head or break any bones, she could rest for a while and still manage to climb up again.
A mother, who is fighting against fate, carries a bag of cooked sweet potatoes and potatoes, holding the hands of two little girls, each no more than six years old, one on each side. Under the silent gaze of everyone, she walks towards the desolate mountains surrounding the small village. She does not want to consider that, even if her son has not become food for the wolves, after all this time, he may have starved to death; nor does she want to think about whether, if one day she truly finds her son's remains, she would still be able to recognize him. All she knows is that she wants to find her son back
Leizhen's mother did not dare to look back; her mind was consumed by a single thought: "If this wolf really bites my son, I will fight it to the death!"
Leizhen's mother did not dare to speak; she feared that if she uttered a word, it would provoke the she-wolf to attack. She could only place her hands behind her back, signaling to her two daughters repeatedly, hoping they would understand her intent: Quickly go to the library and find the village chief, asking him to bring people to help!
Every day, before dawn breaks, this mother opens her eyes on time. She looks at her two daughters, who are huddled together for warmth, sleeping far away so as not to disturb her rest. Under the assault of the mountain wind, they tremble slightly in their sleep from the cold. She reaches out to gently wipe away the snot that has frozen on her daughters' noses. At this moment, she truly wishes to hold her two most obedient, most adorable, and most understanding daughters in her arms and weep loudly with them.
When, after several hours, the village chief finally arrived in the valley with a group of villagers armed with pitchforks and wooden sticks, led by two little girls, cold sweat had already soaked the collar of this mother, who had lived her entire life in the small mountain village and was as ordinary as could be
In such a whisper, she resolutely used almost violent actions to wake her two daughters, who had stayed up late to help her clean her wounds, and once again embarked on their journey or rather their expedition
She truly wanted to rush over, pick up her son, and see if he was injured or if he had gone hungry. However, she did not dare to do so. The wolf guarding the entrance to its den was a female wolf, and it was peculiar that it did not attack Lei Zhen's mother. Yet, this did not mean that it would allow a human to approach its offspring. Moreover, what made Lei Zhen's mother even more hesitant to take risks was her uncertainty about whether the female wolf would, in a fit of ferocity, bite her son to death if it sensed danger.
She inadvertently fell near the wolf's den. The people in the mountains all know that if there are wolf pups in the den, the mother wolf will attack any intruder without hesitation if she senses danger from a person or an animal! When her gaze instinctively skipped over the wolf and landed on the den, she suddenly let out a gasp: "Oh my!"
She responded with great enthusiasm, and tears of joy instantly gushed from her eyes. When she heard her son's call, she felt that all the hardships, grievances, and efforts were not in vain. Even the wolf, which stood before the den, glaring at her and ready to launch a fatal attack at any moment, seemed to become insignificant.
The sound of rustling... ...
She unexpectedly saw her son! Now her son is lying naked in that wolf's den, comfortably resting his head on the soft and smooth body of a little wolf. Perhaps feeling cold, he even stretched out his little arms to embrace the little wolf.
She, accompanied by her two daughters, avoided the areas that the well-meaning villagers had already searched. Whenever they reached a remote location, she would always set down the bags she carried, place her two daughters in a safe position, and then slowly climb up by herself
Immediately, she saw a pair of green eyes, a row of sharp teeth that made her shiver slightly, and a low growl filled with warning and danger. Less than twenty meters in front of her was a stone ledge jutting out. If one were to observe from above the valley, it would be impossible to tell that there was such a hidden world here.
Do not blame your mother for not caring about you; no matter who among you is lost, your mother will never abandon you
Both the palm and the back of the hand are flesh; she fears that if she cries like this, she will no longer have the courage to continue searching for her son
With this belief in mind, she repeatedly faced failures, yet time and again succeeded in climbing peaks that even men would not dare to attempt. Little did she know that within her own body resided such a fierce determination
But she does not dare
